Family History: Edmondsons in 1930 Census

I was playing around in Ancestry.com since we have a subscription at work and I found this. Click on it to read better.

Since Dad was born in 1930 in Owen County I just assumed that that's where Grandma and Grandpa would be on the 1930 census, but not so. They were in Marion County, Indiana (Indianapolis). If you notice Grandpa is a knitter in a hosiery mill. I had never heard this, so I thought it was interesting.

In Grant County, KY I found Uncle Walter and Aunt Lucy living with her mother.

And Uncle Luke and Aunt Mildred were living with Pop. I'll add more later.

Grandpa was working for Realsilk Hosiery Co. It was during the depression and people took whatever jobs they could get. I remember a dod-to-door salesman for Realsilk that came to our house after the war. Ladies could buy real hose again after not being able to get them during the war.

More info from Mom on other people in these census records. Grandma and Grandpa were living with Gran P. Kemper in Indiana. Gran is the brother of Ida Mae Kemper. James H is James Hitt, the father of Ida Mae.

Also living next door to Uncle Walter and Aunt Lucy are Dan Cooke and Ruby, Aunt Della’s parents.
