More Genealogy - Grandpa's siblings

I've compiled a brief snapshot of Grandpa's family. I hate to say it, but it was really hard to do. Maybe I'm getting old, or have been away too long, but I only have a very vague memory of some of Grandpa's siblings.

Because of this there may be errors in this record. If so please correct me. And someone please tell me who Aunt Wilma married. I remember her, but for the life of me I couldn't remember her husband. When someone says his name I will probably kick myself.

Henry Edmondson born about 1868, died 12 Dec 1958, married Ida Mae Kemper around 1897

Their children were:

1. Gertrude born July 1898, died before 1910
2. Wilma born ca 1901
3. Walter born 20 Jun 1902, died 10 Oct 1985, married Lucy Wharton, born 2 Nov 1901, died 6 Apr 1979.
4. Laura born 29 Jun 1905, died 20 Mar 1915
5. Charles Gaston born 10 Nov 1906, died 10 Sep 1979, married Leenetta Henderson, born 25 Dec 1908, died 24 Sep 1981.
6. Ben Luke born 21 Jun 1908, died 9 Sep 1983, married Mildred Pryor, born 2 Sep 1908, died 28 Oct 2003.
7. Alvin born 29 Dec 1911, died before 1920 (birth cert.)
8. Herbert Randell born 29 Dec 1911 died 15 Jan 1913 (death cert.)
9. Frances I (Eileen) born 11 Jul 1918, died 1 May 2002, married Max Shellhorn, born 1 Mar 1919, died 23 Apr 1999.

Number 7 and 8 in this list are probably the same person, but the birth certificate gave one name and the death certificate gave another. I don't ever remember hearing anything about him.

Next time, I'll do Grandma's siblings, but that's it for now.

More 1930 Census

Here is the census record for Lee and Rachel Henderson. They are only a few households away from Henry and Ida Mae Edmondson on Warsaw Road in 1930. Uncle Paul and Mae show up on this page, but I couldn't find Uncle Earl anywhere. Since there wasn't anything else on the Henderson's in the census I'm adding a couple pictures.


One of these men in this photo is Earl Henderson. If you know which one, please post it in a comment.

In the photo below, I think Paul Henderson is the man in front holding a hat and Paul, Jr. is the second boy to the right. If that's not right let us know who they are.













Last, but not least, is Rachel Penn Henderson and an unknown woman. Grandma looked a lot like her.

Family History: Edmondsons in 1930 Census

I was playing around in Ancestry.com since we have a subscription at work and I found this. Click on it to read better.

Since Dad was born in 1930 in Owen County I just assumed that that's where Grandma and Grandpa would be on the 1930 census, but not so. They were in Marion County, Indiana (Indianapolis). If you notice Grandpa is a knitter in a hosiery mill. I had never heard this, so I thought it was interesting.

In Grant County, KY I found Uncle Walter and Aunt Lucy living with her mother.


And Uncle Luke and Aunt Mildred were living with Pop. I'll add more later.
